Profesorul Mihai Ion s-a născut la 6 ianuarie 1944, în Sfânta zi de Bobotează, în satul Dăița, comuna Daia, județul Giurgiu.
După ciclul primar și gimnazial în satul natal, urmează cursurile liceale între 1958-1962, la cel mai important liceu giurgiuvean, ”Ion Maiorescu”. Între 1964-1967, urmează Facultatea de Filologie, secția B…
